I am a part-time assistant professor in the Scholarly Communication Research Group of Adam Mickiewicz University. In my works, I apply world-system analysis to the studies of higher education and academic publishing. I recently completed my postdoc project Is Trinity College Dublin semi-peripheral? Study of two conflicting traditions of writing about centre and peripheries in Dublin. Now I lead a Polish team in a project Investigating the Relationship between Science Diplomacy and Global DGT: The Role of Inclusive Metascience Observatories (IMSO4DIPLO) and I work as a postdoc in a project Predatory publishing practices: Paper tigers or actual threats from evaluation systems?.
For my research on scholarly communication, I received a Polish Scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scientists. I am a board member of the Philosophy and Theory of Higher Education Society. In 2024, I defended a PhD in Philosophy with a thesis titled Science without centre? Resistance against the domination of the centre in academic peripheries at Adam Mickiewicz University in PoznaĆ. I published papers on centres and peripheries of knowledge production and predatory publishing. In his future work, he plans to focus more on the forgotten history of academic publishing in the socialist countries.
